Buangor head-on collision leaves one motorcyclist dead and four injured

Two teenagers and a motorcyclist are hospitalized after a crash that occurred last night north-west from Melbourne.

The police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred in Buangor, near Ararat. A Templestowe 30-year-old man lost his life.

Around 7pm, a motorcyclist traveling east on the Western Hwy near Beaufort crossed the road to the wrong side and crashed into a Holden Vectra heading west.

The rider was killed at the scene.

Four of the Holden’s occupants – the woman driver, 18, a man 49, a woman 47, and a 16-year-old boy – suffered minor injuries.

The 16-year old and the driver were transported to Ballarat Base Hospital.

The death of the motorcyclist brings this year’s road fatalities to 87. This is 10 more than last year at the same point.
