Police investigate sexual assault in North Melbourne on Tram
Detectives from the Transit Crime Investigation Unit are looking into a sexual assault that occurred on a tram back in February.
Investigators were told that a woman boarded the tram route 57 heading towards West Maribyrnong at 10.40pm, on 16 February 2018.
A man sexually assaulted a woman in the tram on Victoria Street, North Melbourne.
Another female passenger on the tram is thought to have observed the incident and called her over.
The man walked along Victoria Street to the east after getting off the tram.
The man was dressed in a red t-shirt, a black hat, and a black headcover. He had a beard of black color and a solid build.
Investigators released photos of a man who they believe could be able assist their inquiries.
The investigators want to talk to the woman who helped the victim.
