A businessman in Melbourne has craned a collectible luxury car worth $3m into a penthouse valued at $39m.
Adrian Portelli’s McLaren Senna GTR has been lifted 57 floors to the top of Exhibition Street’s Sapphire by the Gardens.
The 34-year old entrepreneur and tech-businessman made headlines in November after he bid $4.5 million for
his first home ever on the Block’s season 18.
The apartment will be “centered” around the car with its racing decals.
Adrian Portelli, a multi-millionaire from Melbourne, had a McLaren worth $3million craned up to his penthouse on the 57th floor.
Portelli told Herald Sun that the car would be placed in the living room.
“I’m not going to drive it, because it’s a racecar and it’s illegal in Australia.” It was collecting dust at my house, so I decided to turn it into a piece of art.
It is good that everyone was at work.
Portelli has also stated that the apartment is his weekend home.
The collectible car was raised 57 floors to the top level of the Sapphire By the Gardens building located on Exhibition Street.
Portelli’s wealth is derived from his management of LMCT+ – Australia’s fastest growing car community that focuses on luxurious cars and prestigious homes.
Portelli said that the purchase of the Penthouse was “spontaneous” and that McLaren’s location was a difficult mission.
The car had to be craned up in a deal with the construction company who left the crane up longer just for him. The car will find a permanent home in the lounge and be admired by guests. It is expected that the penthouse will not be finished for 12 to 18 more months so Adrian has more junk to clean up, renovations and styling to come!
